Welcome to Alcudia de Monteagud.
Discover our treasures and enjoy the cuisine and the tranquillity. Find your own cultural and active experience.
The white Mudejar tower of the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary (16th century) guides the visitor who enters the valley. On arriving at the village, you will find the largest cobbled threshing floor in Andalucia, where threshing has been resumed in the summers for the delight of the visitor, as it has been done since 1894 when it was built. You will also find one of the first threshing machines to arrive in Filabres Alhamilla and thematic murals.
The Muslim footprint is very present in the layout of its streets, with landmarks such as the El Patio alley, a filming location, or Siete Vueltas Street, a magnificent route between white façades, decorated with beautiful flowerpots, and which retains corners with charming vines. Walk around and enjoy.
In the lower part of the village you find The Fountain, which is a reference point in Alcudia de Monteagud and its history of water. In this area there are three major tourist attractions: a large museum space made up of the Museum of Ecological History, the Ethnographic Museum and the Dry Stone Theme Park. To these will be added the Memory of Water trail and interpretive area.
The Ecological History Museum provides an original narrative focus: the change and evolution of historical and geological time with an original climatological point of view, also incorporating local reference elements and interactive and augmented reality experiences. A visit is essential, which you can do with a guide. By its side, the Dry Stone Theme Park, unique in the country, depicts the most outstanding milestones of this ancient construction technique, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This space is complemented by a cultural thematic route.
Another important heritage landmark is the Alhabia Tower, which protected one of the medieval hamlets, now uninhabited. In its close surroundings there is a highly attractive natural landscape, with species of large oak trees that are worth discovering. To do so, you can take the local SLA 46 Alhabia Tower trail or walk to El Atalayón via the SLA 61, with unique views of the village and the mythical Monteagud sanctuary.
In February and March, it is worth doing the thematic routes of the Almond Blossom, which transform the landscape.
All this is combined with a varied gastronomic offer at the Mirador de las Estrellas Restaurant and quality rural accommodation so you can also enjoy resting.
